Mr. Hunter is the chairman of the Workers' Compensation and Employment Practice Group at German, Gallagher & Murtagh. Mr. Hunter has been with German, Gallagher & Murtagh for over twenty years. The Workers' Compensation and Employment Practice Group has a national self-insured client base, representing a number of the largest employers throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, in addition to national insurance carriers and third party administrators. The mission of German, Gallagher & Murtagh's Workers' Compensation and Employment Practice Group is integrity, excellence in legal representation and team work.
Mr. Hunter was recently chosen as General Counsel for both the School Districts Insurance Consortium (SDIC) and the School Districts Service Corporation (SDSC) a self insurance pool including over 80 school districts in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Section, has participated in the Workers' Compensation Section Liaison Committee and has served as Chairman, course planner for the PBI Workers' Compensation Section Meeting. He has served two years on the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Bureau Conference planning committee. Mr. Hunter participated as a speaker for PBI's March 2009 "Tough Problems" CLE and moderated a panel of experts on "Settlements" at the 8th Annual Workers' Compensation Conference in May 2009 in Hershey, PA.
A member of ALFA International, the Global Legal Network for over fifteen (15) years. Mr. Hunter has served as Chairman of the of the National Workers' Compensation Practice Group, Program Chairman, featured speaker and has served as Editor for the National Workers' Compensation compendium for the States of Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 1993. Mr. Hunter will serve as Editor for the National Labor and Employment compendium for the States of Pennsylvania and New Jersey for 2009.
He has been a featured speaker in many of the ALFA seminars including the 2006 ALFA International Client Seminar focusing on Employment Practices; and the 2008 ALFA International Workers' Compensation Seminar "Empowering Employers – Keys to Mitigating and Limiting Workers' Compensation Claims". Mr. Hunter was appointed course book editor and speaker for ALFA Internationals 2009 International Client Seminar on Global Labor & Employment topics. Gary was acting Editor for ALFA's recent Labor and Employment Program, "Acceptable Risks: The Intersection of Insurance Law, Business & Employment." Mr. Hunter presented at the 2009 ICS program "Global Labor and Employment Law: A Business View with A Legal Eye." Mr Hunter's panel of National Employers' addressed: "The Employer's Right to Information - In the US and Abroad." Mr. Hunter will present at the Fall 2009 ALFA National Workers' Compensation program in Nashville, Tennesee with a panel of experts to address: "Strategies for Dealing with Employees who lose their jobs." |
