Chilton G. Goebel, III (Chad) is an associate with the firm, ardently representing the firm's clients in the defense of product liability, casualty and commercial disputes. Chad also assists with the defense of professional liability matters, including medical and legal malpractice.
Most recently, he was associated with another Philadelphia law firm where he defended large, self-insured companies against products liability and general negligence claims. A major aspect of this representation involved managing litigation for this client in numerous states evaluating cases, handling all phases of litigation, and negotiating settlements. At this firm Chad also became involved in a number of commercial matters for the firm's clients.
Before then Chad was with the law firm of Messick and Weber P.C. where he represented Credit Unions, Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs), small businesses, and real estate clients. This experience included counseling Credit Unions and CUSOs in matters such as business organization and formation, non-traditional investment and insurance related financial products and services, loan participations, and compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
Chad attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for his undergraduate education where he earned degrees in both Biology and Philosophy. He then graduated cum laude from Widener University School of Law in May 2003. While in law school, Chad was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and served as President of the Health Law Society. Additionally, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Chad also played rugby for the law school and served on the team's executive board.
