Surbrogation Liens in Auto Cases
Summer 2007
Phil Ryan recently conducted a seminar at the offices of Allstate Insurance Company in Horsham, PA on the topic of Subrogation in Auto Cases. Among the subjects which were discussed were how to determine whether an ERISA employee benefit plan is self funded (so that it can assert a subrogation lien), subrogation liens asserted by HMOs and workers compensation carriers, Medicare liens, and liens asserted by attorneys who formerly represented the claimant. Approximately 40 claims professionals attended the seminar. Phil will be presenting a similar seminar at the Philadelphia West offices of Allstate in Malvern, PA at the end of August.
