Runaway Narcotics
AN ALFA INTERNATIONAL TELE-SEMINAR
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 --- 12:00noon to 1:30pm, Central Daylight Time

About This Program.   Prescription drugs, and particularly high-powered narcotic pain killers, continue to haunt employers.  The costs are huge, and many employees are unable to return to work because of the disabling effect of many of these drugs.  This tele-seminar will approach these problems with a view towards increasing the awareness of the use of the drugs, strategies for curtailing such drugs and alternatives for treatment.

The Program Speakers. The panel consists of a medical doctor who has extensive experience with narcotics and drugs, a nurse case manager whose role it is to analyze drug requests and to develop strategies for controlling usage and costs, a casualty claims manager who has many years of experience in dealing with the drug "problem" and two ALFA lawyers with extensive experience in this field.  Biographical sketches for each speaker are attached.

Tele-seminar Mechanics. There is no cost to register for this tele-seminar.  The ALFA International tele-seminar program works just like a typical conference call. As an enrollee, you simply dial into a conference call “bridge,” enter a passcode, and join the program. For technical and presentational simplicity, the tele-seminar will not be interactive. However, the audience may e-mail questions prior to or during the seminar for live response during the program. Access to the seminar is via a toll-free 800 number, so there is no cost to those dialing in.

Enrollment. Registration via our online system is quick and easy. To enroll for this seminar, please click on the following link: http://guest.cvent.com/i.aspx?5S,M3,95e18aec-9ef2-441c-bb3f-45f283716d2a. Feel free to contact Gary Hunter of our office hunterg@ggmfirm.com or our ALFA International staff member Joely Nicholson at jnicholson@alfainternational.com if you have questions about registration.  A program outline and dialing instructions will be e-mailed to you a few days before the program. A final reminder, including another copy of the program outline and dialing instructions, will again be e-mailed to you the day of program.

CLE Credit.  Most of the ALFA International tele-seminars qualify participating lawyers for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit in their home states. We believe this program will qualify for one hour of CLE credit. ALFA will email participants a certificate of attendance which can be forwarded to their state bars, and our staff members will assist you in obtaining available CLE credit.
