Unanimous Defense Verdict for Commercial Trucking Client

Matthew J. McColgan recently secured a unanimous defense verdict on behalf of a commercial trucking client involving sharply disputed liability. The plaintiff alleged that his vehicle was struck by our client’s car hauler on an interstate highway, resulting in substantial injuries, while our driver consistently disputed that any collision occurred.

The defense focused on the credibility of the defendant driver, the lack of objective evidence establishing an impact, and numerous inconsistencies in the plaintiff’s accounts of the alleged accident and resulting injuries. Following presentation of the evidence, the fact finders unanimously rejected the plaintiff’s claims and returned a verdict in favor of our client.
