GGM Announces 2016 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars
GGM is pleased to announce that Dean F. Murtagh, Gary R. Gremminger, John P. Shusted, Gary H. Hunter, and Jeffrey D. Laudenbach, have been named Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2016. Jacob C. Lehman has been named a “Rising Star” for 2016.
Gary Gremminger recently obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial held in Philadelphia County. Plaintiff was operating a dirt bike when he was involved in a collision with defendant’s motor vehicle. Plaintiff’s leg was severed above the knee.
Plaintiff presented testimony by an accident reconstruction expert to support his theory of liability but the expert opinion was trumped by the testimony of an independent witness and also by that of the investigating police officer who took a statement from the plaintiff at the hospital a week after the accident. Plaintiff’s claim that the statement was given while he was under the influence of narcotic pain medication was apparently rejected by the jury which found the plaintiff to be 80% at fault.
Defense verdict in a Premises Liability case where Plaintiffs alleged a slip and fall on a foreign substance inside the store causing a knee injury and back injury resulting in both knee surgery and spinal surgery with over $800,000 in economic loss and permanent disability.
Defense verdict in a Medical Malpractice case where Plaintiffs alleged a missed diagnosed C7 fracture after a fall down stairs resulting in paraplegia with multi-million dollar exposure.
In May 2016, Mr. Lehman was named by the Legal Intelligencer as a recipient of the Lawyer on the Fast Track award. This honor, intended to recognize the next generation of great lawyers in Pennsylvania, is awarded to only 35 attorneys in Pennsylvania under the age of 40 each year. The state legal community submits nominations to the Legal Intelligencer which are then reviewed by a six-member panel composed of evaluators from all corners of the legal profession and the state who make the final selections.
Gary Hunter, Jeff Laudenbach and Chad Goebel attend the 2016 ALFA International Client Seminar. The seminar took place on March 3-6, 2016 at La Quinta Resort & Club (A Waldorf Astoria Resort) in La Quinta (Palm Springs), California.
